Fuck Yeah Jordan Staal: Family Helps Jordan Staal... →
fuckyeahjordanstaal: Penguins center Jordan Staal’s season thus far has been gutted by freak physical problems — an infection in his right foot, then surgery after his right hand was broken by a puck in practice. But things got better the past week. He went to North Carolina to visit his oldest brother, Eric, then…

first game at consol
Courtesy of the boyfriend as a birthday present (from July 23) Offense started out terrible but picked up by the second period Fleury was shaky— he made a few good saves but he let a lot of garbage through Billy Guerin was in attendance and when they played a short dedication to him on the screen the whole place gave him a standing ovation Just when I was getting very irritated with Kunitz he...

The amended rule will eliminate shootout wins from that equation, leaving the total number of regulation and overtime wins as the first tiebreaking mechanism.

penguins don't plan to re-sign guerin →
Veteran free agent winger Bill Guerin said by text message today that Penguins general manager Ray Shero has informed him the club has decided not to attempt to re-sign him for the 2010-11 season. Guerin, 39, was acquired from the New York Islanders at the 2009 trade deadline and helped the Penguins to a strong finish in the regular season and a run to the Stanley Cup title. He has been a...

last night
I walked into the living room and my dad was watching part of a game from last year on the NHL Network (totally sad and desperate, right? I was so there). There were the sounds of skates on ice and bodies crunching into the boards. The familiar arena music, the announcers. Marc-André Fleury doing his butterfly thing and making a save with 10 seconds left. My heart must have skipped a beat. I miss...

involving the Flyers. I actually can’t stand them— as opposed to the Caps, for instance, who are rivals, but entertaining to watch and still a good team and respectable. But the Flyers? I can’t stand them, from their orange jerseys to Scott Hartnell’s stupid hair. Their playing style isn’t a good physical game; it’s goonish and boring. So, uh, go Chicago?

penguins free agents
FORWARDS Matt Cooke — Keep. Cookie is a good, aggressive forward. We need him and Brooksie when Godard isn’t in the lineup (which is most of the time). Bill Guerin — Keep, probably. He’s expensive, but he offers a mature, fatherly presence to the team that the captain cannot. That said, if Gonch sticks around, it’s possible he could fill that position. Alexei Ponikarovsky —...
