wetheurban: The show had a hockey theme (if it wasn’t obvious)  and the stage looked like a rink with hockey sticks at the end. thepenultimateindeed: Cool article about Willie O’Rhee, first black NHL player. One of my favorite things about this article is how clearly ‘hockey’ it is.  Almost everyone interviewed barely mentioned race, choosing instead to celebrate the man’s skills (his wheels were apparently quite notable), his work ethic, and his character.  How can you not admire the humility of the sport of hockey?

2011 Winter Classic To Be Caps At Pens? →
fuckyeahhockey: we wish… sportsocracy:  via Empty Netters. I wish indeed. My original prediction yesterday was that it would be a California team playing somewhere in western Canada (so, LA Kings v. Calgary perhaps?) because the west has been rather left out of winter classic festivities. There was talk though of how lovely it would be to see a winter classic at PNC Park or Heinz Field.
